I'll just pop up this bloke
again for
Illustration Friday. The topic is
aging - Originally he was drawn to express that feeling you get when there is no bread in the morning for toast, so reluctantly you go out and get some.
I kind of imagine feeling the same as you get old, "Oh dear there goes another hip, sigh...I'll have to go out and get another..."
and so on..

....
And now, if e'er by chance I put
My fingers into glue,
Or madly squeeze a right-hand foot
Into a left-hand shoe,
Or if I drop upon my toe
A very heavy weight,
I weep for it reminds me so
Of that old man I used to know-
Whose look was mild, whose speech was slow,
Whose hair was whiter than the snow,
Whose face was very like a crow,
With eyes like cinders all aglow,
Who seemed distracted with his woe,
Who rocked his body to and fro,
And muttered mumblingly and low,
As if his mouth was full of dough,
Who snorted like a buffalo,
That summer evening long ago
A-sitting on a gate.

Wonderfully expressive and sadly accurate. *G*
for some wierd reason this reminds me of LettuceFingers...
What is "Lettuce Fingers" ??
I am sitting here imagining what it would be like to have fingers made out of lettuce. Very difficult to type, they'd just sort 'ruffle' accross the keyboard.
You would't want to have guineapigs as pets... :(
