Here is a snippet of the comic I put into Tiny Peeks

These are little Yuendumu dogs.
This is Yuendumu
Two weeks till I go back to Yuendumu. on Twitpic

The idea for the exhibition/tiny limited edition book was to do a 'tiny peek' into your day to day, limited to one page. I was in Jabiru when given the brief. I couldn't think of an appropriate scenario that I felt captured this theme as my "day to day" has been all over the place this year. So I decided to whip up a day in the year comic...if that makes sense...

Sinna Man Excerpt

Here is an excerpt for Sinna Man

I just realised this was the winner of the MIFF animation shorts. I did miss one of the screenings this year. What a shame. I hope it will be in MIAF 2011

Anita Killi animation Sinna Man

I have been looking at Sinna Man making of on the Trollfilm AS site. It is animator Anita Killi's most recent animation. Sinna Man is a book by author GRO DAHLE and illustrator: SVEIN NYHUS. It looks absolutely magnificent. I would really like to see it in it's original language (prefer the voice acting). It is also called Angry Man in English.

This is the sort of wirey dog I would like. Isn't he beautiful. The whole production looks beautiful, very inspiring.

What is nice about the Trollfilm AS site is the documentation of the process. Paper cutout. It is really interesting to see.

Other things:
I'm listening to Boy and the Echo Choir, their album And Night Arrives in One Gigantic Step is worth a peruse. Piano-ey, and very nice.

Bai Rong Wang - Lao shu jia nü (The Mouse Marries, 1983)

I've been looking for good examples of paper cut out animation lately. Michel Ocelot being the obvious one to look at, but it is nice to find something like this little animation. It is wonderful for so many reasons.

Hmm, I'm not sure about 1983? It suggests 60's to me. I'll have to do some research.
