Beijing based animation studio SEEN STUDIO have created an animation called 怪哉. The story is adapted from a traditional Chinese story about the White Lotus Society.

I saw Oddly at Graphic last year as a part of the "Beginnings" documentary on Chinese independent animators. It is beautiful...  Have a look.
