An excerpt from a hand drawn (etched/printed) animation titled Marks.
Just popped this up. Marks is a 5 minute looping animation completed in 2007 as part of a residency at Megalo Print Studio. The brief was to create an animation using etchings, and to keep the over all look true to the etched mark (rather than treated with digital effects). The animation is intended for a gallery space rather than a tv/movie screen.
I did blog about the whole process in 2006, and I uploaded a small mov in 2007 - this one is a little less compressed. I have just created a sound piece for this, though I may mix it down a little better and upload it a little down the track.
"Worr'wurr ga nyiknyik" sans subtitles and credits.

Have been in Yirrkala for the last four weeks. Working on some new animation. All of it is in pre-production, one of them erring into production mode. However these projects are on hold for a couple of months due to other projects. Back to the juggle in a couple of months. The pictured animation I've posted before (see link above). I really love Nyalung's paintings so I'm putting it up again. This is the raw version, no sound effects, no title, subtitles, or credits. The subtitles really need to be moved to a more 'fashionable' subtitle spot - rather than where they currently sit in the final version.
